This place is like a piece in heaven just in the middle of shopping-paradise 'le marais'. When you need to go to a
calm environment in the middle of the big city, then you have to go to this place. It's called 'the swedish institute",
and this name says enough. Everything up here is about Sweden. I most of all love their little café/restaurant, where
they serve all kind of Swedish specialities. From fresh juice, to home made bread and Swedish coffee. Their food
is home made, from the bread till the flower sirups. Not only is there a nice little restaurant, you also can go to exhibitions,
watch concerts, Swedish courses, ... . Everything is about Sweden.
What do we need more?

Musée de la poupée
This museum is hidden in a little street behind Beaubourg. It's like a little hidden treasure.
I really enjoyed looking at the exhibition about etnic dolls. When you enter the museum you get the impression
to go back in time. It's kind of old-fashioned, but that's what makes it so lovely and wonderful. Next to the exhibition
they also have a little store when you can buy little dolls.
It's a world on his own, but I believe that it's really worth a visit !

Cité de la musique
Because I wanted to buy tickets for a concert I ended up at this wonderful place with great architecture (designed
by Christian de Portzamparc ) and colors. When I first heard about 'Cité de la musique', I thought this would be a very
oldfashioned building. So I was really surprised to bump into this great place. I was overwhelmed by the colors, and
walked here for a little while.
Even when you don't have to buy tickets for a concert you can come here to go to the music exhibition, workshops,
the café, the library and visit the nice bookshop (with ofcourse a lot of good cd's !).
I can't wait until the day that I can go back there to go to the concerts. Bet the concert hall is beautiful too !

The museum of everything
"The museum of everything" was a place that was for a long time on my to-do-list finally I went to this great place.
The museum is a temporary place where you can have a look to artworks from people who never went to art-school,
and who also never had the intention to be "an artist". This exhibition shows really honest (and sometimes) crazy works.
From paintings to textile works, from pictures to dolls. It's really worth a visit.
And what's better to finish a nice exhibition then drink and eat something delicious. It's all possible in the "café of everything".
Because it's a temporary exhibition, you have to be quick. It's just there till the end of february 2013 !

Les grandes serres.
Greenhouses are my dream. And never before I saw such a beautiful ones as in 'Le jardin des plantes' in Paris. You can visit
the greenhouses, you have 4 different ones. The one with cactusses and succulents is my absolute favorite ! While I was walking
next to all the plants I also discovered my favorite plant, the Pilea. It's like an oasis of peace and calmness. A dream for
everybody who's interested in plants.

Muséum national d'histoire naturell : Galeries Paléontologie
With the girls from my internship I went to 'Musée National d'histoire naturelle'. It's a very old fashioned museum with
bones from dinosaurs, animals, and humans. It's like you go back in time. I was really impressed, because I never saw
something like that in real. Even not when I was a child. It's really nice !
(soon I'll also visit the "Grande galerie de l'évolution" and "Grandes Serres". More information soon on this blog)

Palais De Tokyo
Every weekend I try to visit an exhibition. I most of all loved the exhibition in 'Palais de Tokyo', it's a museum for
contemporary art. 4 things to convince you of going to that museum :
- They have several different expositions in the building, so everyone can find something that he really likes.
- There is a nice bookshop
- The building is great, and there are a lot surprises in the architecture
- There is a photomaton (so you can take 4 different pictures just for 2 euros)

When I went to the museum I was most of all impressed by the amazing work of artist, Fabrice Hyber. I didn't know him
before, but I love his work so much. In the pictures you can see fragments of his exhibition. But I believe that
you have to go there, to see all this beauty with your own eyes.
